Trench Wood 24th February
Last night's conditions seemed ideal for a woodland effort, so stowed a 15 watt actinic Skinner away for 6 hours. Roll call at 23:30 was 10 Yellow Horned, a March Moth and 3 Satellites, all NFY. 2 Spring Ushers, 2 Small Brindled Beauty, 19 Chestnuts, 2 Pale B Beauty were nice back-up. The highlight was a fine Acleris logiana, only the 5th VC 35 record and well pleased to have now seen four out of the five of em!

Warndon Garden 23rd February
Very windy all night here in Worcester but a decent Dark Chestnut was welcome and still annual here most Februaries. Only 1/1. 2 Hebrew Character, Common Quaker, Acleris ferrugana and an Ypsolopha ustella was a better count on 21st.

Bringsty Common February 20th
Winds originating from the Sahara at the moment, so a good opportunity to see what's out and about. However, here the wind was blowing a hooley up until midnight. This evening may be a better bet. 7 species recorded: March (1), Pale Brindled Beauty (1), Chestnut (2), Clouded Drab (1), Common Quaker (1), Tortricodes alternella (3) and my second ever garden Small Brindled Beauty.
