On the advise of my friend Dave Wilton, I got the FOR lure out of the freezer, put it in a pheromone trap and took it down to the nearest dingle where there's quite a bit of sallow and willow and left it there for 3 hours. I'm pleased to say there was a single Red-tipped Clearwing in the trap when I went to fetch it back. Very few county records for this one. I'll write something about moth trap catches tomorrow

The "5" records showing on the chart are incorrect as 2 are duplicates, so only 4 records before this one. I bet it is very under recorded!
